Made a conscious decision to try a SATA drive but was unable to get it to work on my older mother board with out disabling other drives sharing the cable. The adapter boards only plug directly into the board socket and support one device.

I added this to a friend's very old, home-built Win-XP 32-bit system which had 2 SATA slots, but was using PATA drives to date. As you'd hope, installation was nothing more than a matter than fitting it in a slot and plugging in 2 cables. It works just fine with Nero 9, and iTunes. Good kit at a very good price.

This is the first SATA device on my old computer, as a bread and butter component it does exactly what it says and reliably burns more DVDs than either of the two bottom rung IDE Sony (Liteon?) drives (supplied by the computer assembler) that it's had after 4 years.

I decided to try out a Sata Burner and choose this one. It installed ok worked with no problems at all. Ofcouse you have to make sure your Motherboard has sata sockets on it. For the price, I think it is a really good bargain.
