This product comes in a sturdy but simple cardboard box - no wrestling with impenetrable plastic bubbles. One end of the cable plugs into the DVI (monitor) port of your computer and the other plugs into the HDMI socket of your TV. This allows you to view PC-based photos and videos on your telly. Or if your whole family likes playing PC games like 'Tales of Monkey Island', you can all gather round the TV rather than round a titchy computer screen.
The connectors are chunky and the metal parts are gold plated. I read recently in Which? magazine that basic cables perform just as well as top of the range products costing 10 or 15 times as much. So you can buy this with confidence.
